Service Description
Want to develop your skills and try specific forms with guidance from your teacher? This intermediate course is aimed at those who already have a foundation knowledge of throwing and can confidently centre, cone and pull walls. Each week of the course the focus will be on a specific form to allow time to develop technique with only one piece kept to continue with, to let go of expectation and allow the freedom to focus on the process rather than the piece itself. Week 1: Centring and pulling up walls to make cylinders with 500g, 800g, 1kg and 1.5kg clay Week 2: 2 part centring and throwing off the hump Week 3+4: Medium/Large bowls, jugs and vases Week 5: Closed forms eg. lemon juicer Week 6: Cake stand/chip and dip The cost of the course includes all tools, equipment and materials, along with firing your work. (unless it is particularly large piece or additional pieces to the one per week allocated for this course, which would incur an additional fee). Please note this course is focused on the throwing element and trimming/glazing will need to be completed in drop ins. The two and a half hour session includes 15 minutes cleaning up time at the end of the class. * Due to the nature of ceramics not all pots make it out of the firing process in one piece - we will do our best to take care of your creations but cannot be responsible if pots are damaged or destroyed in the firing process and unfortunately we cannot offer refunds if this occurs
