Coil Building Mini Course

Service Description

Want to develop your skills in hand building and build a larger more developed form? Then this mini course is for you! During the two and a half hour sessions you will learn about creating a larger form through working with coils and forming a large structure which could be functional or decorative. Your final piece will be stoneware and fired in the studio with the option for drop in students to return and glaze themselves and visiting course attendees can choose a glaze colour for us to apply. The classes are purposefully kept small to allow for lots of time for tuition. This course is suitable for beginners up to more experienced potters. Our previous six week course students are able to receive a discounted option for this course. The cost of the course includes all tools, equipment and materials, along with firing your work*. The two and a half hour session includes 15 minutes cleaning up time at the end of the class. After 3-4 weeks we will email to notify you that your pots are ready for collection. We advise you to come in clothing you don't mind getting a bit dirty - pottery can get a little messy! It will also help if your nails are short and you don't have jewellery on - but it isn't essential. * Due to the nature of ceramics not all pots make it out of the firing process in one piece - we will do our best to take care of your creations but cannot be responsible if pots are damaged or destroyed in the firing process and unfortunately we cannot offer refunds if this occurs.
